sPR~s
S 30: Spring 30 lies outside the zone of potential subsidence for any mining
conducted prior to 1993. Mining in the closest proximity to Spring 30
occurred 1300 feet fran this feature during 1992. Spring 30 was observed
in June as a trickle frcan which a sar~le was unobtainable. The spring was
observed in July (damp) and August (damp) as well. No water quality
samples were obtained as no measurable flows were observed. A sufficient
database exists to characterize pre-mining water quality at this site. No
further monitoring was conducted during 1992 as the spring was observed
with no flows and presimied to remain in this condition throughout the
remainder of the year.
S 31: Spring 31 lies outside the zone of potential subsidence for any mining
conducted prior to 1993. Mining in the closest proximity to Spring 31
oocin red 3200 feet fmn this feature during 1992. A sufficient database
exists to characterize pre-mining water quality at this site. ~e
followira data for Spring 31 was omitted from the 1992 AHR. Flora rate for
July 22 (0.011 cfs1. Ztao full suite analyses were conducted durirw 1992.
Both include Chloride and Sulfate aryl copies are enclosed. No flow rate
appears for the October 20 visit as none was measured. 'This visit was
made solely to check operation of the water meter.
SP 192: Spring & Pond 19 lies outside the area of any potential mine impacts given
mine development to date. Spring & Fond 19 was observed in June (1/2
full), July (1/3 full), and August (1/3 full) 1992. No water quality
samples were obtained as no measurable flows were observed. A sufficient
database exists to characterize pre-mining water quality at this site. No
further monitoring was conducted during 1992 as the spring was observed
with no measurable flows and presumed to remain in this condition
throughout the remainder of the year. The spring was observed to wntinue
to produce water (as evidenced by water in the pond) with no mine impacts
apparent and wnditions in the area uncharged since 1983.
SP 232: Spring & Pond 23 overlies an area of the Fast mine inactive since 1984.
Spring & Pond 23 was observed in June (0.0013 cfs), July (0.0011 cfs), and
August (no measurable flows). The June flow was omitted from the AHR. No
water quality samples were obtained as the only point of ~a~~rable flora
occurred at the pond outlet and water in the pond appeared stagnant. A
sufficient database already exists to characterize water quality at this
site. No further monitoring was conducted during 1992 as the spring was
observed with no measurable flows and prestmied to remain in this condition
throughout the remainder of the year. The spring was observed to continue
to produce water (as evidenced by water in the pond) with no mine impacts
apparent and conditions in the area unchanged since 1984.
SP 242: Spring & Pond 24 lies outside the zone of potential subsidence but
downstream of an area of the Fast mine developed in 1981. This spring is
located 850 feet from the nearest minim. 'The spring was observed in June
(3/4 full), July (1/2 full), and August (1/3 full) 1992. No water quality
samples were obtained as no measurable flows were observed. A sufficient
database already exists to characterize water quality at this site. No
further monitoring was conducted during 1992 as the spring was observed
with no measurable flows and presumed to remain in this condition
throughout the remainder of the year. The spring was observed to continue
6
