The pond lies outside <br />the zone of any potential subsidence and is located 5200 feet frcan the <br />nearest mining which took place in 1985. A sufficient database exists to <br />characterize pre-minvng water quality at this site. There is no practical <br />r~son to continue monitoring at Pond 6-5 as no mine related iirga3cts can <br />reasonably be expected to occur at this site. <br />P 8-4': No monitoring of Pond 8-4 took place during 1992. The porzi lies outside <br />the zone of any potential subsidence and is located 2100 feet from the <br />nearest mining which took place in 1984. In addition, Pond 8-4 has been <br />observed to have it's dam breached since 1987, the earliest date data is <br />available. <br />P 83~: Pond 83 overlies an area of the Fast mine inactive since 1984. No retreat <br />mining has occurred in the vicinity of this porxi. The porn was observed <br />in July (dry) and August (dry) 1992. The hydrology database indicates <br />this pond has been observed to discharge on only two occasions and <br />typically contains little water. A sufficient database exists to <br />characterize water quality at this site although it should be noted that a <br />majority of the sales were collected at times the pond was not <br />disrliargitg. . <br />P 84': Pond 84 lies outside the zone of potential subsidence and is located 1800 <br />fr~n the nearest mining which took place in 1983. The pond was observed <br />in June (dry), July (dry), and August (dry) 1992. The hydrology database <br />indicates this pond has never been observed to discharge in measurable <br />quantities. No water quality samples were obtained as no flows were <br />observed. No further monitoring was conducted during 1992 as it was <br />presumed the porn remained dry throughout the remainder of the year. <br />There is no practical reason to continue monitoring at Pond 84 as no mine <br />related impacts can reasonably be expected to occur at this site. <br />P 17-1': Pond 17-1 overlies an area of the Fast mine inactive since 1986. Pond <br />17-1 has been observed to have it's dam breached since 1983, the earliest <br />date data is available. Pond 17-1 was observed in July 1992 arxi the dam <br />was still breached. <br />P 18-1Z: Pond 18-1 lies outside the zone of potential subsidence given mine <br />development to date. bl" in the nearest proximity to Pond 18-1 took <br />place in 1986, 1300 feet from the pond. The pond was observed in July <br />(1/4 full) and August (dry) 1992. No water quality sales were obtained <br />as no flows were observed. A sufficient database exists to characterize <br />water quality at this site. No further monitoring was conducted during <br />1992 as the pond was observed dry arri presumed to remain dry throughout <br />the remainder of the year. <br />5 <br />
