Reclamation of Area 2 will begin when Area 1 reclamation is completed. Area 2
reclamation will proceed easterly from Area 1, along the south side of Area 2, where
mining operations will be about 800 feet wide. Topsoil and overburden stripped from
continuing Area 2 mining operations, east and north of initial Area 2 reclamation, will be
hauled to the Area 2 reclamation work site by scrapers, and placed and spread on the pit
floor to a minimum depth of two feet. Stockpiles will not be used.
Overburden stripped from the north part of Area 2 and Area 3 will be placed on or
neaz the lazge overburden stockpile in the northeast part f the original permit area. When
mining Area 3 is completed, a minimum oftwo feet of stockpiled overburden and topsoil
will be placed and spread over Area 3 by scrapers.
The only buffer azea affected will be the berm placed north of the Sanchez parcel
During reclamation, the berm material will be removed for nearby reclamation use and the
disturbed area will be graded to the same elevation as the surrounding land and seeded
with the approved seed mix. The farmer may place an access road along the buffer zone
in this area when reclamation is complete.
Exhibit F -Reclamation Mau.
Acreage figures on the Reclamation map will be revised to 52.43 acres.
As described previously, L. O. Griffith, the landowner adjacent on the west, will
mine his property up to the common property line at the same elevation and slope as the
reclaimed permit area.
The northwest area of the existing permit should contain no reclaimed contours
below the elevation of approximately 4655 feet because the contours at that elevation are
over the river bluff (below the level of the pit floor) and will not be disturbed.
On the Reclamation Map the north end of the haul road is dashed to show the
approximate location the road will enter the pit. The access road leading to the pit floor
will not terminate. The farmer will determined the location of the farming roads and river
access road after reclamation.
The ephemeral drainage channel will be graded flat and farmed. As mining
proceeds, ephemeral flows from the drainage area will be piped across the mined area.
After mining, a permanent pipeline will remain.
Exhibit H -Wildlife Information.
The two gullies referred to by the CDOW officer on the county Agency Review
Sheet are within the original permitted area. During his site inspection, the officer
apparently was looking at the entire site as one project area and didn't realize the gullies
were not within the proposed expansion azea.
