A. Live Vegetative Areal Cover is 70$ or more. This <br />C cover will be measured using a point-intercept or line- <br />intercept method." <br />Rule 4.14.8(3)(a) states: "For vegetative cover the <br />revegetated area shall be considered acceptable if it is not <br />less than 90 percent of the cover as determined from the <br />reference area or approved standard with 90 percent <br />statistical confidence, ..." Therefore, to demonstrate that <br />Phase II bond release is appropriate, the reclaimed area <br />sample mean must be shown to be equal to 63$ total <br />vegetative cover with 90 percent statistical confidence. <br />Quantitative Sampling - General: <br />In accordance with the Division's Vegetation <br />Guidelines ("Guidelines for Compliance with Land Use and <br />Vegetation Requirements of the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board for Coal Mining, October, 1988"), a <br />minimum of 15 samples was agreed upon to be taken throughout <br />the disturbed areas. These areas, though disjunct from each <br />other, were sampled as one unit since one success standard <br />has been approved for the entire mine site. Samples were to <br />be collected until sample adequacy was reached. Random <br />sample locations were drawn from gridded disturbed area maps <br />(100 x 100 meter grid) and were located in the field through <br />~. <br />2 <br />
