Mr. Robert Liddle
March 30, 1984
Page Two

demolition experts and consulting engineers. These costs are
based upon contractor's estimates for such work and are calcu-
lated to be approximately 15% of original construction labor
costs. Salvage value of the material was not included in the
estimates. I have revised Table 4.8.1.8. to reflect the new
estimated demolition costs for the surface facilities.
Finally, while re-evaluating the reclamation costs, we re-
examined the cost estimates provided in the M&R Plan for
revegetation. We compared these cost estimates against the
actual cost of revegetation at our Black Thunder and Coal
Creek Mines in Wyoming during 1983 as well as against the
actual cost of this work performed by subcontractors and found
that the costs provided in the M&R Plan are still reasonable
estimates of the cost of revegetation. Thus no changes to the
revegetation cost estimates are necessary at this time.
Sincerely,
Paige .
