<br />1 <br />9. Immerse the rinsed sample container below the water surface to collect a sample. The <br />' mouth of the sample container should be 2 to 3 inches below the surface, if possible. If the <br />water is flowing, point the bottle upstream. Use a clean and rinsed transfer bottle to obtain water for filtering, if required. Filter the <br /> sample as described in SOP for Sample Filtration. Fill the required sample containers for <br /> filtered analyses. <br />' 12. For samples requiring preservatives and no filtering, take clean, non-preserved, rinsed <br /> transfer bottle and dip into stream. Sample is then transferred to appropriate preserved <br />' bottle. <br /> 13. Rinse the container's outside surface with clean water and dry with a paper towel. <br />' 14. Place the sample containers in zipper-locking plastic bags and put them in a cooler with ice <br /> and maintain at 4°C in accordance with SOP for Water Sample Packaging and Shipping. <br /> <br /> <br />t <br />1 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
