gullies caused by erosion, are on both sides of and within thirty feet of
the fence on the west side of the disturbed area. The fill will be
mounded 6" to 12" high to provide material to repair any settling that
occurs in the future. These areas were identified on the site visit
conducted during September, 1995.
All Phase I areas including the subsidence repair will be seeded with
the approved seed mix and seeding schedule.
Phase II includes the removal of the upper diversion ditch, D-3 and
D-4, the lower collection ditch, D-1 and D-2, and the sedimentation
pond after the reclaimed area is stabilized and vegetative cover has
been established. Approval from the Division will be obtained prior to
commencing reclamation ofthe facilities.
The estimated total volume of material that will be moved is 13,800
bank cubic yards, with 8,500 bank cubic yards being moved in Phase
I and 5,300 bank cubic yards in Phase II. The attached Table 1
presents the mass balance for the regrading work and is based on the
current topographic map Exhibit 17 and cross sections, Exhibit 18,
Sheets 1-3, developed from the current topographic map and the
slope stability analysis done in the disturbed area. The Post Mining
Topography is shown on Exhibit 19.
The following equipment is expected to be used to establish the post
mining topography:
Bulldozer D-6 or larger
Front End Loader
Hydraulic Excavator
The fill material will be placed in two foot lifts and compacted by
mobile equipment, i.e. either a bulldozer or front end loader.
(2) (D) Plan for redistribution of topsoil
(a) The only topsoil stored at the mine site is the soil recovered from the
sediment pond. The plan is to cover the pond site with 1-2 inches and
then use the excess soil to cover the site.
(2) (E) Plan for Revegetation
(a) Schedule for revegetation
i.
