(b) Species and amounts per acre of seed to be used
i. Because seed crops vary from year to year, species selection will
be guided by :Martin Zim and Nelson's American Wildlife and
Plants 1951 . All things being equal, priority will be given to:
Artemisia Tridentata low alkaloid strains
Svmphoricarpos oreoQhilus
Poa sQ (on site )
Carex foenea
Stina Columbiana
Stioa lettermanii
Poly og num s~.Q
Vicia americans
Lu inus argenteus
Aaroavron
All plants will be collected locally during the previous season. Application
rate will be 30 pounds per acre. The species checked are available
commercially. If unsuitable collections are made on site, they will be
purchased.
(c) Methods to be used in Planting and Seeding
i. Jacklyn Mulch designed for hand application. Area will be
seeded, raked, and the mulch hand applied at a time when the soil is
reasonably moist or when light rain may be anticipated. This will be
to reduce possible erosion of the mulch.
14 B.
