A separate letter has been submitted by the
Operator to address the proposed boundary change through a request for a Technical Revision to the
Permit.
Updated Site Map: The Request for Technical Revision for Boundary Clarification, submitted
under separate cover, includes two signed originals of the CARNATION MINE, PERMIT M-1977-
416, 1" = 100' updated site map. The updated site map shows the revised Permit boundary as
proposed in the Technical Revision request. Additional surveying work has been performed at the
Carnation Mine, which resulted in minor additional changes in the site map, most notably the
removal of the ore loadout wall and regrading of this area.
Permit Acreage: The Permit acreage of "9.76 acres" listed on the last version of the site map has
not been revised in the request for Technical Revision. The site boundary has been adjusted to abut
the Sunday Mine, Permit M-1977-285, to the east. The Permit boundary has also been moved out
slightly along the southwest side to fully encompass the waste dump.
Right of Access: The Operator controls unpatented mining claims covering the entire area of
mining operations for the Sunday group of mines, including the Carnation Mine. Since the
boundary change proposed by the Operator is small, no additional map has been provided to show
the location of the Operator's unpatented mining claims.
Site Conditions
Final closure of Portal: The Carnation Mine portal will be permanently closed by removing the
structural support in the portal entrance and removing the portal entrance structure and gate. The
Operator proposes to dispose of building debris and concrete rubble in the portal prior to pushing it
