2.05.3(3)
Culinary Water Collection and
Treatment Plant
The collection and treatment facility
consists of a gravel infiltration bed, perforated CMP collection
network, two pumps, chlorinator, pump house and a 6-inch pipeline
for delivery of the treated water to the 200,000-gallon tank.
(b)li) Bear Creek Area - See Drawings C8-787AR,
Page 2.04-5, and A8-1328R, Page 2.04-7
A. Bear Creek Substation
The Bear Creek Substation has a capacity
of 3000 KVA and provides power for the Bear Creek facilities and
an assigned portion of Somerset Mine. The total power for the
Somerset Mine is received from the Delta Montrose Electric Assn.
via the Bear Creek transmission line that branches off the Hotch-
kiss-Oliver main transmission line. This station also feeds
electricity to both Elk Creek and Hubbard Creek through pole
transmission lines. The substation consists of a concrete foun-
dation, steel structure switch racks and a control building.
Portions of this facility have been disassembled (see Map C8-
787AR).
B. Mine Ventilating Fan Station
The ventilating fan station consists of
concrete foundation, the fan and fan structure, fan motor and
control house, and the duct work for connection to the mine
portal. This mine provides ventilation for an assigned area of
the mine. A diesel powered standby fan will be installed at this
site to insure continued ventilation in the event of a power
failure. This fan station has been removed during the 1986
reclamation activities.
C. 400,000-Gallon Water Storage Tank
This facility consists of a 50-foot
diameter, 32-foot high open top water tank. The tank receives
water from the mine and provides a reservoir of water from mining
purposes and fire control. When the water exceeds that required
for mining the surplus overflow through a six-inch overflow pipe
to a riprapped area on the bank of Bear Creek. This water tank
was demolished during 1987.
2.05 - 10
Rev. 3:8-08-91
