2.05.3!3!
W. Roof Bolt Storesae Shed
This shed is a structural steel building
with columns on concrete piers. The building serves as weather
protection for roof support materials, cement, conveyor belt,
hose and other materials.
X. Parking Lot
The parking lot serves as a graded
gravel area and provides a parking area for employees.
Y. Main Access and Haul Road
The main access and haul road is a
graded graveled road which connects the Elk Creek Mine Area to
State Highway 133. This road provides virtually the only access
to the Elk Creek Mine Area. Haul trucks which deliver coal to
the facilities from other mines in the area utilize this road.
The haul road extends from State Highway 133 to the coal stock-
pile area and then on to the truck scales and dump station. The
road then extends from the west side of the dump station and
circles back to the east, through the coal stockpile area, so the
coal trucks can return to State Highway 133.
Portions of the main access and haul
road and the Elk Creek Canyon Road, described on the follow page,
provide public access to the cemetery located above the town of
Somerset.
Z. Elk Creek Refuse Pile, Stora~ee Yard
and Access Road
This storage yard is a graded, partially
graveled, flat area on the Elk Creek refuse pile. The conveyor
belt and haul road from the Sanborn Creek Mine will traverse this
yard. It is also used for storage of supplies and other surplus
equipment. See Exhibit D-1 for a description of the construction
of the refuse pile. See drawings 5-016 & 5-017 for the location
of the conveyor and haul road from the Sanborn Creek Mine.
a. Filtration Field
The filtration field consists of a
system of French drains and receives the effluent from septic
tanks located at the shop, office and bathhouse.
2.05 - 9
Rev. 2:8-08-91
