SPECIFICATION H <br />TOPSOIL SEEDING AND MULCHING <br />1 <br />2 <br />SCOPE <br />The work to be performed in accordance with this specification consists of <br />furnishing all materials, equipment, and supplies, and providing all labor and <br />supervision in connection with slope protection, seeding, and plant materials <br />salvage of disturbed areas as directed by the Engineer. <br />The owner has the discretion to modify these requirements as dictated by field <br />conditions and material availability, and for consistency with overall site planning. <br />MATERIALS <br />2.1 TOPSOIL <br />Topsoil shall be stockpiled in accordance with Specification A -Earthwork, <br />at locations specified by the Engineer. <br />2.2 SEED <br />Seed shall be an approved commercially available seed, free from noxious <br />seeds and weeds. Seed that has become wet, moldy, or otherwise <br />contaminated or damaged in transit or storage will not be accepted. <br />2.2.1 The seed mixture may be obtained from Southwestern Seed Co., <br />Dolores, Colorado, and is known as "Climax Seed Mix." <br />2.2.2 A seed mixture consisting of the following kinds of seed (percent- <br />age by weight) shall be used: <br />Species Percent <br />Smooth Brome 19 <br />Timothy 13 <br />Red Top 13 <br />Meadow Foxtail 9 <br />Orchard Grass 9 <br />Red Fescue 9 <br />Hard Fescue 9 <br />Light Clover 9 <br />Balbo Rye 10 <br />SPEC.
