Comments also describe any <br />enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts ar evidence <br />•, supporting the enforcement action, <br />[il'DI]ULOLIC ALaNCE <br />It was reiterated by the inspectors, that the spring inspected last <br />month on Nr. Muutz's property should be inventoried, depicted on a <br />map, and monitored, regardless of whether it is a dpc„pfeed spring. <br />The lower section of the 100-year ditch on the west aide of the <br />ratuse pile requires cleaning in order to ensure thnt the ditch <br />will con tint,e to function as designed. The operator had begun to <br />' cleaet t2r1~ ditch Erivr ,to thy Gonclt;s~.on of the inspection. The <br />••west side of ~lte gravel pedtat !!H-® should be re~raded• so'. that wit <br />drains to this pond. This area may cltanga, however, upon <br />construction .of the 'new coal storage pad.. This is an upcoming <br />revision that MCC wi.tl submit to the Division. The inlet to !lB-B <br />on the north aide of the pond should 6e protected aq,,~j,,te stnrting <br />to erodb and wash out. The hay bolts in the ditch alon~t Sylvester <br />Gulch road need to be "keyed in". The culvert on the downstream <br />aids of tits inlet at MH-1 requires cleaning in order to ensure that <br />• the culvert will continue to function ea' designed. The ditch <br />immedlately below the emergency apillwnya for MH-1 and PW-1 <br />requires cleaning. The sediment trap under the conveyor at the <br />portals hue been clontted out sines the Division's last inspecblon. <br />The ditch on the want side of this sediment trap needs cleaning. <br />The culvert at the sttbstution was full of aedlment but was cleaned <br />prior to the conelus:ion of the inspection. Aeeording to t},e <br />operatot•, there was a significant storm event over' the prevloua <br />weekend. This culvert is bent in the middle ancl, theretere, will <br />not drain propur.ly, The operator is considering putting in a <br />concrete lined dlp seriion to convey the water to the sedimat,t <br />pond. 'Iltla method is preferred by the operator, as opposed to <br />• installing a now culvert, ae there are n number of powerlines that <br />' cult undargrou[:d in this area. Ft•ior to installatl~n, a minor <br />reyisior, should be submitted to the Division detailing.the designs <br />' of the' dlp section. ' •Tn tiddlbio~r, ~ the 'ditch upstream of this <br />culvert should be protected using tiptop, .or another method, <br />because there is evidence oP down~:utting. This ditch is nn a steep <br />slope. The operator ie in the process of removing equipment from <br />the e:cp.Losi~•e b~tnleera~so that this area can be regraded to provide <br />proper d.t•ainage to the c~.,lvort. <br />6fJPNOR'C f:~OIL~I'CIE~ <br />The operator is in the procoe3 of dec:ummist:ion'ing the waste oil <br />tank.
