4.3 The Climax Environmental Department will be responsible for the following additional <br />• notifications. In the absence of the Environmental Manager it will be necessary for initiative to <br />be taken by one of the other listed persons and notifications should proceed as follows: <br />• <br /> <br />Important Note: Under the CDPS permit for Climax Mine, the spill must be orally reported to <br />the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment within 24 hours of becoming aware <br />of the incident. Some material spills may require immediate reporting. Therefore, it is <br />imperative to: (1) assess all spills immediately, (2) seek assistance through the Climax <br />Environmental Manager (3) evaluate the appropriate reporting, and (4) obtain concurrence with <br />the listed Phelps Dodge contacts. All petroleum and chemical spills must be reported to the Site <br />Manager and the Environmental Manager who will make the determination of whether reporting <br />to a regulatory agency is required.
