~ 2.0 TECHNICAL REVISION ORGANIZATION <br />~' <br />This technical revision application follows the general outline of Amendment No. 8 <br />simply for ease of review. We have followed this format also to provide broader <br />information and references for use by Teller County while conducting their land use <br />review process. <br />3.0 BACKGROUND OF THE APPLICANT <br />The Cresson Project continues to be a joint venture between AngloGold (Colorado) Corp. <br />and Golden Cycle Gold Corporation. This joint venture is designated Cripple Creek & <br />Victor Gold Mining Company ("CC&V"). AngloGold (Colorado) Corp. is the managing <br />agent of the joint venture and operates the site. AngloGold (Colorado) Corp. is a wholly <br />owned subsidiary of AngloGold North America Inc. <br />CC&V has operated in the District since 1976 under various ownerships. <br />4.0 PHYSICAL BACKGROUND <br />4.1 Location <br />There aze no changes in the location of the project, the location of the Permit Boundary, <br />• or the affected acreage since Amendment No. 8 approval. <br />~ - The site is accessible from State Highway 67 as it runs between the towns of Cripple <br />Creek and Victor. Limited access is also available from County Road 82 <br />4.2 Topographv and Elevation <br />Topography of the Cresson Project is characterized by rolling hills with numerous peaks <br />and valleys. The site topography has been locally changed due to mining activities over <br />the last 100 years or so. The azea of the proposed ECME has been disturbed previously <br />by historic mining activities. <br />The Cresson Project ranges in elevation from approximately 9,000 feet above mean sea <br />level (AMSL) to approximately 10,800 feet AMSL. Average elevation across the site is <br />approximately 9,900 feet AMSL. The azea of the ECME ranges from approximately <br />10,000 to 10,600 feet AMSL. <br />4.3 Land Use <br />The Cresson Project and the lazger District have been mined historically while also being <br />used for wildlife and livestock grazing. All land within the Amendment No. 8 Permit <br />Boundary and within the proposed ECME is privately owned and controlled. There aze <br />no state or federally administered lands with the Amendment No. 8 affected lands or <br />• within the proposed ECME ]ands. <br />
