[II. Comments - CanDliance <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of <br />observations rrsde during tfre inspection. Comments also describe any <br />enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence <br />supporting the enforcement action. <br />MAINTENANCE ITEMS <br />During the inspection, the following items were identified as areas <br />requiring maintenance: <br />1. Install rip rap at Moffat Haul Road culvert outlets as <br />necessary. <br />2. A keyway should be cut in the berm around the waste oil <br />storage tank (behind maintenance shop) so that spills from <br />the oil pump will be contained within the tank berm. <br />3. The road shoulder at Moffat Haul Road Culvert E6 should be <br />graded to eliminate ruts. <br />4. The berm along the east side of the shop yard, behind the <br />shop and magnesium storage tank and behind the bucket house, <br />should be built up to prevent runoff from the area onto <br />undisturbed lands. <br />5. Slumps identified on the Goat Trail should be repaired. <br />6. The Moffat diversion ditch should be repaired where <br />downcutting has occurred. <br />These maintenance items should be completed when ground conditions <br />allow, but shall be completed no later than May 15, 1993. <br />REQUIRED REVISIONS: <br />1. The operator is required to submit a plan to dewater the <br />Moffat pit. The plan will require a minor revision to the <br />permit, and must be submitted within two weeks of this <br />inspection. <br />2. The operator is required to submit a technical revision to <br />reclassify the North Access Road as a haul road. The <br />reclassification request may be included with the technical <br />revision required by NOV C-93-025 or submitted separately, <br />but the request must be received by the Division within 30 <br />days of this inspection. <br />Edna Strip Mine 6 3/30/93 - 4/2/93 <br />
