If they are .allowed to <br />go forth with this production then it will be a <br />help to the overall tax income for the State. As <br />well as help the local economy. <br />It seems as we try and take one step <br />forward the County board or an outside influence <br />wants to stop Abraxus from going forth with the <br />mining plans. <br />A meeting was held Last Thursday with <br />the board to try and work out some of the problems. <br />Abraxus went in and reduced their oricjiRal request <br />to 20,000 tons a^year. 'Phe county now wants an <br />amount of $700,0000 plus to fix the road so the <br />coal trucks can use it. If you average out the <br />tonnage a day for a year it works out to approximately <br />6 loads a day and thats not even what a bus load of <br />kids would weigh a week. The lumber trucks that use <br />that road weigh a lot more then the coal trucks <br />and do a lot more damage because of their being a <br /> <br />
