M93040GE
report. We suggest that the geotechnical engineering observation
and testing be the responsibility of the owner, not the contractor
to maintain third party credibility. We have included a cony of a
report prepared by Van Gilder Insurance which discusses testing
services during construction., It is our opinion that the owner,
and engineer be familiar with the information. If you have any
questions regarding this concept please contact us.
This subsoil and foundation study is based on limited sampling
observations of the near surface soils only and a review of
subsurface boring logs by others, therefore it is necessary to
assume that the subsurface conditions do not vary greatly from
those observed. Our experience has shown that significant
variations are likely to exist and can become apparent only during
additional on-site excavation. For this reason, and because of our
familiarity with the project, Lambert and Associates should be
retained to observe foundation excavations prior to foundation
construction, to observe the geotechnical aspects of the
construction, and to be available in the event any unusual or
unexpected conditions are encountered. The cost of the
geotechnical observations and testing during construction or
additional engineering consultation is not included in the fee for
this report. We recommend that your construction budget include
site visits during construction for the project geotechnical
6
Lambert ana ~,~.soriate,s
O rvSULiIrvG GEOiECN NIGAL ENG~N EEPS eND
V •iE PIaL iE STING
