If a factor of
safety of 1 t~^- t0 sho A the slope incl.i_aation the
slope may recuire fut maintenance.
A surface water diversion ditch should be constructed at the
ton of the slope to intercept surface water above the slope and
divert it away from the slope. The slide debris in the existing
bench drain ditch should be removed and the bench drain ditch
recontoured to promote rapid runoff of collected water. The drain
ditches should be lined with an impervious aeotextile lining to
reduce the potential for surface water infiltrated into the slope
soils. The finished surface of the slopes should be groomed to
remove all loose or disturbed soils and provide a relatively
uniform surface to promote rapid runoff of surface water. Anv
loose or disturbed soils on the face of the slopes should be either
removed or recompacted to help improve the integrity and
performance of the slope face.
