The proposed new mining area is referred to as the BLM Pit #1 (M-2001-
100). During the initial development and initial mining of the BLM Pi[ #1 United
Companies proposes that the area of the Hall Pit (that has already been affected by gravel
mining at the Hall Pit) be used for processing and storage of gravel produced at the
neighboring BLM pit. Also, United Companies proposes that the previously affected
area of the Hall Pit be used to store topsoil and subsoil materials removed from the first
two Blocks mined at the BLM Pit #1.
United Companies is also proposing two other changes to the Hall Pit Mining Plan and
Mining /Utility Map at this time.
L Using the existing Hall Pit access road and [ruck scale during the life of the BLM
Pit #l.
Eliminating the 31) foot wide Hall Pit buffer zone at the south boundary of the
Hall Pi[. This will allow tl)e pit floor to be made continuous between the Hall and
BLM pits. The gravel resource will be fully used and no gravel will be left in
place at the boundary between the Hall and BLM pits if this proposal is approved.
Thank you for your consideration of these proposals.
Sincerely,
Richard Johnson
Resource Manager
21830 Huy. 550 South, P.O.
