\J

EXHIB~E (Cont'd)
Therefore, if the primary plan for reclamation can be carried
to completion the total water surface in the four lakes will
be approximately 89.72 acres +. If the alternate plan in
Area 2 becomes necessary, the water surface in the five lakes
will be approximately 119.01 acres +. The operator anticipates
that the revegetation plan and the use of tree screens at the
lakes will create a desirable habitat for various species of
wildlife.
The operator intends to plant the grasses recommended by
the U. S. Soil Conservation Service described in the report
included in Exhibit I/J (see Revegetation Program in this
Exhibit E). It appears unlikely at this time that supplemental
water for sprinkling the grass during the first 6-8 weeks
after planting will be available, but should water become
available it will be used as recommended.
The property will be mined in nine stages, each five years
in duration except for the last stage which will last four years.
At the conclusion of each mining stage a reclamation phase will
be commenced. Valco plans to attempt to complete grading,
reshaping, seeding, mulching and fertilizing within one year
of the completion of each mining stage.
The usual planting, mulching and fertilizing time will be
from April 1 to hiay 15 of each revegetation year. During the
four remaining years of a reclamation phase the reclamation
progress will be monitored and remedial work will be performed
where necessary.
