• E~BIT E
RECLAMATION PLAN AND TIhSETABLE
Reclamation Plan. The proposed reclamation plan will
create an area of private recreation and varied wildlife
habitat as well as commercial/industrial property along the
highway . Area 1 will be divided into t~vo lakes which will lie
along the Arkansas River. The plan for Area 2 is to refill
and rezone for commercial/industrial use (see map Exhibit F).
The area mined as Stage Z will be regraded and converted to
commercial/industrial zoning along Highway 9G. Areas 3 and 4
will become two small lakes, one in each mined area. Should
it become impossible to use Area 2 and Stage Z for commercial/
industrial development, Valco will implement an alternate plan
which will create a lake in Area 2 compatible with the other
lakes to be created (see map Exhibit F-1). As Areas 2 and 3
are mined, .t he irrigated alfalfa field and the irrigated tree
nursery will be phased out. The Stage Z alternate plan is to
regrade and reshape to contours compatible with the surrounding
topography and to revegetate side slopes where possible. Much
of Stage Z is limestone roc]c with no soil cover and no vegeta-
tion.
The two lakes in Area 1 will be approximately 10.74 acres +
• aad 20.50 + of water surface. The lake in Area 2, if the
alternate reclamation plan becomes necessary, will be approxi-
mately 29.29 acres + water surface. The Area 3 lake will
approximate 9.79 acres + water surface and the lake in Area 4
will have a water surface of approximately 48.69 acres +.
