The proposed zevegetation comple-
ment includes both a seed mix and transplanting or seeding of clustered shrubs.
Shrubs will be planted in clusters of approximately 0.5 acre with clusters separated
at lease 50 feet. Spacing of shrubs within clusters will be 7-10 ft. The choke-
cherry shrub will be planted selectively in those clusters bordering the reclaimed
Shrub Community. The shrubs will be planted first with the seed mix drilled at
the first appropriate planting season following soil testing to determine required
amendments. Since the riparian area is relatively level, a straw mulch will be
applied at a rate of 1,500 to 2,000 lb/acre and crimped in following seeding.
The proposed seed mix to be planted in the riparian revegetation area
is:
PLS
GRASSES lb/ac PLS/ft2
Steambank Wheatgrass Agropyron riparium Sodar) 3.5 13
Western Wheatgrass Agropyron smithii (Rosana) 5.5 14
Russian Wildrye Elymus unceus Vinall) 1.5 6
Basin Wildrye Elymus cinereus 0.5 2
Redtop Agrostis albs 0.1 11
112 (Rev. 8/30/85)
