Delta Sand and Grave•O. •
PIT #1 Amendment
M.L.R.B. Jt M-77-020
July 8, 1997
begin, when enough slope is open so an orderly cut/fill sloping
operation can be done without risking disruption of the mining
operation. Mining will continue as market demands dictate until
the reserve is depleted on this parcel.
Notice that the exterior slopes of the site are completed at
3h to lv as described above. Sloping is done as soon as
practical, after mining has reached the perimeter of the site, to
reduce the amount of cut/fill work needed at any one time. The
sight berm is also in place since the area is totally stripped
and ready for mining.
once mining is done on the EAST PARCEL, the existing lake
will be de-watered and we will begin mining on the west side. We
will use the mining method described above and mine towards the
west line of the affected area. Please refer to the Mining
Timetable following this section for the estimated life of the
Parcels described above.
The other revisions we are making, is that we will now work
on a single near vertical face as mining progresses and the
islands shown in the east lake will not be built. The slopes
will then be cut/fill graded to 3h to lv, from five foot above to
10 foot below the lake surface, as required in the existing
permit. This method will be used in both of the new areas.
We expect this change to extend the life of the mining
operation by 10 years or more depending on the market conditions
in the vicinity of the facility. Please refer to Exhibit S for a
discussion on permanent and manmade structures in the vicinity of
the facility.
MINING TIMETABLE (revised 7/97)
AREA YEARS MINING
AREA TOTAL
AREA
EXISTING 0.5 to 1 1.33 19.76
EAST PARCEL 5 to 6 15.52 19.92
WEST PARCEL 1 to 3 4.35 5.51
TOTAL 6.5 to 10 21.20 45.19
5
