• • • The eusting Castle Concrete Company's Sand Pit will be back lied to an average of about
1/3 of its existing depth. This will be acoompliahed through the use of washing fines end non- -
decomposable construction wastes (broken concrete, bricks, etc.).
• • • • Through an agreement already reached, an aquifer recharge system will be installed on the
east side of Academy Boulevard. This system will utilize water from the irrigation ditch to help
~~ replenish the aquifer.
• • • All drainage from the site will be coordinated with the regional drainage system. The
currently proposed regional drainage plan includes detention/retention ponds that will provide
drainage control for this site and much of the surrounding land. At least one of these ponds (and
probably two) are to be constructed on this property and will remain after the operation is completed.
• • • The eventual land use for this site is proposed as rangeland/wildlife, but the actual plan
calls for revegetation of the disturbed land which will be configured in such a fashion that it can
easily be converted to recreational, residential, or industrial uses. Because of the long life of this
operation, a precise final land use cannot be offered. The desire is to reclaim the land in such a way
that future residents can easily decide ¢t that time what the land should be used for. The
reclamation of this site is designed around a flexible final land use plan, rather than a plan that is
precisely defined as to its final land use.
•
•
Introduction/Overview Page I/O.3
