EXHIBIT D (Cont'd)
The dike is now being mined on 40-foot benches. As mining

LJ

1

1

LJ
1

progresses, holes are drilled and charges set with multiple delays.
The charges are detonated in accordance with industry standards.
The loose rock is removed to the quarry floor where front-end
loaders load and carry the material to a primary crusher which
then feeds the aggregate processing plant. As the operation moves
along the dike, the primary crusher will move also. After primary
crushing, the material will then be moved by conveyor to the
processing plant. Part of Stage P (P indicates plant) will be
used during Stages I through XIV as the location of the scale
house, sanitary facilities, general yard and equipment storage.
The remaining part of Stage P will be reclaimed when the plant
is moved closer to the mining face. But the total acreage of
Stage P will be used in the acreage count as a floating disturbed
area that will cover the location changes of the crusher system
and stockpiles. For further information, see the cost of
reclamation estimate in Exhibit L.
Each stage will be approximately 200 feet wide. The operator
will have to mine one stage while using the previous stage as a
base to work from. This will mean that at any one time three
stages will be in some state of disturbance. For example, while
mining is in progress on Stage V, the primary crusher and mining
equipment are working from Stage IV and reclamation is in progress
on Stage III.
R
