BATTLE MOUNTAIN RESOURCES Page G-9 <br />San Luis Project Tcchnical Specifications <br />6.12.5 Type 10 Material -Miscellaneous Fill <br />Type 10 miscellaneous fill material utilized as general grading fill or trench backfill shall be <br />compacted by trafficking the fill with several passes of earth moving or appropriate compaction <br />equipment. When used as trench backfill, the material should be compacted to apluroximate]y the <br />density of the surrounding soil. Type 1 or 2 material used as general fill for the same purposes <br />shall be placed in maximum 18 inch loose lifts and subject to similar compaction criteria. <br />Compaction of these materials shall be subject to the Designer's approval and a method <br />specification defining the lift thickness for Type 10 material and the total compac:ive effort to be <br />applied shall be developed in the field based on the actual equipment employed acrd the observed <br />condition of the fill.
