Other spilhvay segments or diversion chanrtels may also <br />incorporate these special revetments, if desired by the Contractor and approved by <br />the Designer, or the various riprap materials as specified. <br />2.11 Drainage Basins <br />A. Four drainage basins discharge into [he reclaimed tailings impoundment. The <br />basins are noted as A, B, C, and D on the Drawings. The channel dimensions and <br />topography adjacent to the facility will control flow conditions prior to discharge <br />into the facility. Section 5.5.2 of these Specifications details grading <br />requirements outside of the perimeter berms, based on assumed flow conditions. <br />This shall be used to provide adequate azea for a hydraulic jump to occur prior to <br />flow entering the facility. A hydraulic jump inside the facility may compromising <br />the integrity of the perimeter berm or produce excessive erosion. Grading of these <br />areas may be revised if approved by the Designer. <br />2.12 Authority of the Designer <br />A. The Designer will decide all questions which may arise as to the quality and <br />acceptability of materials famished and work performed and as to the rate of <br />progress of the work; all questions which may arise as to the interEuretation of the <br />Drawings and Technical Specifications; and all questions as to the acceptable <br />fulfillment of the contract on the part of the Contractor. <br />The Designer will, in writing, suspend the work wholly or in part due to [he <br />failure of the Contractor to correct conditions unsafe for the wt3rkmen or the <br />general public; for failure to carry out provisions of the contract. for failure to <br />carry out orders; for such periods as he may deem necessary dut; to unsuitable <br />weather; for conditions considered unsuitable for the prosecution •~f the work or <br />for any other condition or reason deemed to be in the Owner's inten~st. <br />All work performed and all materials famished shall be in rerLSOnably close <br />conformity with the lines, grades, cross sections, dimensions and material <br />requirements, including tolerances, shown on the plans or indicated in the <br />Specifications. <br />N:\DHALLMAN\gANLUIS~SANLUIS.DOC 2~6 SRK Pm~ect No. 14732 <br />
