BATTLE MOUNTAIN RESOURCES page Z_7 <br />San Luis Project Technical Specifications <br />construction activities in the area and notify the Construction Inspector or <br />Designer. <br />The Construction Inspector and/or Designer shall determine the nature of the <br />material and the proper course of action prior to resumption of the Contractor's <br />activities in the area. Additional work required for the Contractor to remove such <br />material, if required, shall be covered under a change order at the Owner's <br />expense. <br />2.8 Trafficability <br />A. Portions of the work include construction activities within the tailings impounded <br />by the dam structures. The tailings, and in particular the finer component or <br />"slimes" have a limited ability to support construction equipment traffic, <br />particulazly when wet. Prolonged periods of wet weather may remler portions of <br />[he impoundment azea impassable to construction equipment without construction <br />of temporary fills to support the weight of the equipment. The construction and <br />removal of temporary fills are the responsibility of the Contractor. <br />2.9 Submittals <br />A. The Drawings will be supplemented by shop Drawings as sF~ecified or as <br />necessary to adequately control the work. The contract price will include the cost <br />of furnishing all shop Drawings. Shop Drawings may consist of Drawings, <br />diagrams, illustrations, schedules, calculations, and other data prepazed by the <br />Contractor, subcontractors, manufacturer, supplier, or distributor, which will <br />illustrate how specific portions of the work shall be fabricated andior installed in <br />accordance with the Drawing details and Technical Specifications. <br />Approval of the shop Drawings by the Designer shall not be construed as a <br />complete check, but will indicate that general conformance with the design <br />concept and general compliance with the information given in the contract <br />documents has been achieved. Any action shown is subject to the requirements of <br />the plans and Specifications. The Contractor shall be responsible for all <br />dimensions and quantities shown on the Drawings. The Designer shall be notified <br />in writing of any information in the shop Drawings that deviates from the <br />N:\DNALLMAN\SANLUIS~SANLUIS.DOC l-~ SRK Project No. <br />
