'1r1 ~ •
Cotter Corporation
Ms. Camille M. Farrell
Mined Land Reclamation Division
July 17, 1985
Page Two
J
b. No erosion has occurred as the mine water is totally contained by
the evaporation pond.
5. a. (1) C-JD-6 (77-310) (110 permit - Limited Impact)
The disturbed area is as permitted (6.24 acres). Reclamation
of this area cannot begin until the mine is permanently closed.
The disturbed areas around the vent holes, however, have re-
vegetated themselves with native grasses and forties. Also,
the 351 exploration drill sites at this site have been reclaimed
and seeded with approved seed mixture.
(2) C-JD-7 U.G. (77-308) (112 permit - Limited Impact)
The disturbed area has not reached the total permitted acreage
(9.29) as only one (1) of the vent holes has been constructed.
The evaporation pond area was converted to a two (2) pond dis-
charge system as mentioned earlier. The pond and vent hole
areas have revegetated themselves quite satisfactorily. The
exploration drill holes on this property were obliterated by
the pit construction adjacent to it. The other permitted vent
hole area will be utilized sometime after production is resumed.
(3) C-JD-9 (77-306) (110 permit - Limited Impact)
The disturbed area has not reached the total permitted acreage
(8.25) and the amendment acreage (2.85) as the addition to the
waste dump has not been utilized due to the cessation of pro-
duction.
The revegetation of the vent site shows excellent growth as
well as the water discharge pond area. All drill sites were
reclaimed and seeded in 1981 with excellent results.
(4) C-SR-13A) (110 permit - Limited Impact)
The disturbed area is as permitted (9.69 acres). Reclamation
of this area cannot begin until the mine is permanently
closed. However, all drill sites at this site have been reclaimed
and seeded. The revegetation of this area is limited due to very
limited topsoil with mostly rock outcroppings. Presently, we
are reworking the drill sites and vent hole areas and will
reseed again this fall.
