~~

Phase 4 monitoring program: Piezometers will be monitored monthly with [he exception of
piezometer P7. Piezometer P7 will be monitored daily during the initial dewatering of Phase 4
until the dewatering program for Phase 4 has been established.
Phase 5
Phase 5 dewatering: During Phase 5 groundwater will be diverted via pit dewatering and/or the
groundwater collection trench to the dewatering silt pond and then gravity fed to the west
recharge pond. If the capacity of the recharge ponds are being exceeded groundwater will also
be diverted to the Boxelder Ditch.
Phase 5 monitoring program:
1. Piezometers will be monitored monthly.
2. A staff gauge will be installed in east recharge pond and the water level will be recorded
monthly along with the piezometer and west recharge readings.
3. A measuring device will be installed during Phase 2 on the trench system diverting water into
the west recharge pond to measure the quantity of water being diverted into the recharge
pond. Flows to be measured monthly.
4. The monitoring program during this phase will be specifically aimed at identifying any
problems with the recharge capacity of the east and west recharge ponds. The monitoring
program for evaluating the west recharge pond, as described above, will be continued. The
monitoring program for the east recharge pond is as follows:
a) A relationship will be established during the first three months of operation in Phase 5
between 1) the water level in the east recharge pond and the water level in piezometer P7.
Example: if during the first three months the water levels in east recharge pond range
from 0.5-0.8 feet higher than the water level in piezometer P7 the largest elevation
difference during the three months, 0.8 feet, will become the recorded elevation
difference (RED) between the east recharge pond and piezometer P7.
b) A maximum elevation difference (MED) between the east recharge pond and piezometer
P7 will be calculated as the (RED) plus 1.0 feet. If the (MED) is exceeded DMG will be
notified. (example: continuing the example from item 4a., if the elevation difference
between the east recharge pond and piezometer P7exceeds 1.8 feet (1.0 +0.8), DMG will
be notified).
c) After DMG has been notified, Connell Resources will review records from all nine
monitoring wells and submit a report to DMG within 30 days. The report will present an
analysis of the groundwater elevation drop and a mitigation plan to restore the
groundwater recharge to conditions present at the beginning of Phase 5.
Phase 6
Phase 6 dewatering: Very limited dewatering will be required during phase 6 of the mining plan
because the pit will be lined and groundwater seepage into the pit will be essentially eliminated.
