• The most recent amendment was submitted to the OMLR in July 1998 as <br />Amendment No. 7. It was based on the ongoing exploration discoveries and <br />incorporation of additional ore into the mining plan, as well as the need for extension of <br />existing overburden storage areas, the VLF, and ancillary facilities. Specifically, <br />Amendment No. 7 included: <br />1) continued surface mining in the "Main" Cresson Mine, <br />2) surface mining in areas located to the east and south of the Main Cresson <br />Mine (designated "East Cresson Mines" and "South Cresson Mine"), <br />3) enlargement of the [wo active Overburden Storage Areas ("Arequa Gulch" <br />and "Squaw Gulch," formerly known as Globe Hill/Ironclad Overburden <br />Storage Area), <br />4) extension of the existing Cresson VLF to the west and northwest, and <br />5) associated extension of the infrastructure supporting these elements such <br />• as haul roads, vehicle access roads, powerlines, and surface water <br />diversion systems. <br />Amendment No. 7 was approved by the Mined Land Reclamation Board <br />("MLRB") on January 25, 1999 with the MLRB order signed on the same day. <br />Amendment No. 7 was approved with three conditions: <br />1) The water quality monitoring period for detoxification verification <br />following decommissioning ofthe heap leach pad shall be four (4) yeazs; <br />2) Within 60 days, the Applicant shall reevaluate its blasting monitoring plan <br />for its effectiveness in protecting structures in the town of Victor and shall <br />submit the reevaluation to the Office and all parties in the matter in order <br />to clarify the sufficiency of the plan; and, <br />3) Within 120 days, the Applicant shall review its overburden storage azea <br />management plan for Arequa Gulch, and shall submit a report to the <br />• Office and all parties to the matter that addresses the concerns of the <br />
