Facilities must implement the provisions of thcir SWMP as a condition of/his permit. Comprehensive Inspection and Remrdkeeping
C. SWMP Develoomem. Coordination and Format
Some activities required under the SWMP may already be in place. However, the SWMP will require the permittee
to coordinate these adivitiu with any necessary new activities in an orderly manner, so that the rrsuh is the
reduction or elimination of pollutants reaching state waters from areas not limited by e,Qluent limitations.
It is the permittee's responsibility to notes the Cobrado Division ajMinerals and Geology (CDMGJ(formerly the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division) of any dwngrs at their site ruulting from the implementation of the
SWMP. This notffrcation allows the CDMG to review the SWMP and inmtporate arty potential revisions into the
facility s reclamation permit which might be needed. !t is importam to verify that the sire reclamation permit
matches the SWMP. Such information is usually mmained in Esltibit G of I10 reclamation permits.
The SWMP may rely upon information developed for other similar pollution rnntrol programs such as the SPCC
(Spill Prevemion Control and Countermeasures) plan or the Mined Land Reclamation Plan. Appropriate portions
of these other plans may be incorporated in the SWMP by reference, as long to a complete SWMP can be
reproduced and srrbmiutd to the requesting agenry within the time frame sperified in the request. Those portions
of the referenced docvmerus mast be included in the subminal. 71u SWMP must also be readily available to an
on-site inspector.
