(d) Three pressure meters installed near each well
head to continuously monitor and record on 10
minute intervals: 1} the injection pressure, 2)
the production pressure, and 3) the pressure in
the annulus between the longstring casing and
tubing.
(e) Instrumentation for continuous display of the
calculated depth to the fluid/mining solution
interface in the annulus between the longstring
casing and tubing. The calculated depth
displayed shall be accurate to within operational
and safety standards.
(f) Temperature monitoring devices with digital
recording every 10 minutes installed on the
injection and production flow lines of each
solution mining well near the well head.
(g) Any other monitoring devices or equipment
necessary to meet monitoring requirements (see
Part II D.), for evaluation of mining cavity
growth, for detection of subsidence due to
solution mining activity, and for the measurement
of ground-water level and quality.
9. Proposed Chanoes and Workovers. The operator shall
give advance notice to the Director at least 13 days
before any planned physical alterations or additions
to the permitted well(s). Alterations or workovers of
the permitted well(s) shall meet all conditions as set
forth in this permit.
The operator shall provide all records of well
workovers, logging, or other test data to EPA within
thirty (30) days of completion of the activity.
Appendix B contains samples of the appropriate
reporting forms.
After well workovers or alterations, the Director may
require a demonstration of Part I mechanical integrity
(tubing/casing annulus pressure test) using a
temporary packer, or other test approved by the
Director, prior to resuming injection activities.
5. Formation Testing. Natural Soda has submitted
sufficient information on the formation in its
application. No further specific testing of the
formation is required. However, if any testing or
Page 9 of 120
EPA FINAL Area Permit No. CO3870-00000
