Mr. Jerry V/hite
Lorimer County Planning Division
Apri125, 1995
Page 4
6. Noise and dust pollution/visual impact to the site. Connell Resources currently follows the
laws and guidelines outlined by the Colorado Department of Health regazding noise and
air pollution and will apply for the appropriate permits for this operation.
This project will not pose or create a greater impact than their current operation because the
production rate is not expected to increase.
The visual impact to the area is not expected to increase because of the movement of the
operation to the south. Connell Resources will take the necessary measures to reduce the
visual impact on the area. In the DMG mining plan they have proposed to build berms on
the north and east sides and plant fast growing trees and shrubs to help screen the site.
7. Proposed structures. This operation will not build any new structures. Connell will
relocated their existing structures.
8. Proposed water and .ses+~er systems. Sanitary facilities at the site will consist of port-o-let
type toilets. Bottled water will be supplied to the employees.
Fire protection facility. Fire protection equipment will include fue extinguishers and water
hoses. This site falls under the jurisdiction of the Poudre Fire Authority and should be
routinely inspected.
0. Drainage report. The site is located within the Cache La Poudre River 100-yeaz
floodplain. The floodplain definition is located in Exhibit C of the DMG permit
application. This information was taken from November 17, 1993 FEMA Panel #080101
208. A portion of the Cache La Poudre floodway also passes through the site. This is due
to the undersizing of the I-25 bridge passing over the river north of Harmony Road.
There aze two ditches on the property used to irrigate. These irrigation ditches aze strictly
used by the property owners. Only the imgation ditch on the west side of the property will
be affected by mining activity. The property owner has no objection to the removal of this
ditch.
The western edge of the permit follows a segment of a Box Elder Ditch lateral (Arthur
Lateral). Connell will not mine closer than 100 feet to the Arthur Lateral.
The Fossil Creek Inlet Ditch is located on the westem edge of the peanit boundary. It will
not be affected by the mining activity.
