years after project cessation (See Table 1 for list of constituent
analysis). i
The above monitoring i'requency will be increased to once per week if effects
from the mining operation on the monitored zones are recorded. The weekly
samples will be analyzed for the field measurements and major constituents, -
with the first sample im~luding minor constituents. Water quality sampling will
focus on the effected aquifer and/or aquifers directly above and/or below; also
effected aquifer at nearE:st additional monitoring site will be monitored. Weekly
manual water levels will be obtained for wells sampled for water quality. The
BLM and EPA will be consulted to develop site specific rational and monitoring
requirements, and will determine extent/duration of monitoring.
Each of the monitoring wells will be equipped with a nitrogen gas, lift type well
sampling device following well development. This enables sampling of the well
efficiently, in a manner which is consistent with deep well sampling methods
used by other operators in the Piceance Basin. The field measurements will be
made immediately upon. withdrawal of the water sample, and water samples will
be properly preserved between the time of sampling and lab analysis to ensure
accurate analytical results are obtained. The sample will be submitted to a
24
~.
