• The major springs which contribute to the water supply are Kruzen Springs, Big
Springs, and Crystal Spring. No flow data are available for these inflows.
Kruzen Springs is located in Section 32. The water from this particular spring
can be conveyed directly via 4-inch pipeline to either Palisade Cabin Reservoir
or the 6-inch pipeline associated with Cottonwood Creek. Big Spring, in Section
20, conveys water via 6-inch pipeline to a point where another 8-inch pipeline in
Section 17 can either convey water to Palisade Cabin Reservoir or directly to
the water supply reservoir, Section 2 via the Rapid Creek 6-inch pipeline.
Water from Crystal Spring located in Section 17, is conveyed directly into a 6-
inch pipeline which then carries the water a short distance before intersecting
an 8-inch pipeline which can convey water to either Cabin Reservoir or directly
into the Rapid Creek 6-inch pipeline associated with the water supply reservoir
in Section 2.
Raw water stored in Palisade No. 3 and Palisade No. 1 is tapped and collected
• in gravel drains below the reservoirs where water seeps from beneath the dams
through the porous bottoms. The water is conveyed from the collection
structures in the pipelines. The seeps that appear below the reservoirs are
therefore artificial springs. Both Palisade No. 1 and Palisade No. 3 Reservoirs
are raw water storage basins without piped outlets. Only Palisade Cabin
Reservoir has a regulated outlet pipe and piped inlets. The water which is
conveyed away can either be stored at Palisade Cabin Reservoir or piped
directly to the water supply reservoir in Section 2, T11S, R98W, via the
Cottonwood Creek pipeline.
The Rapid Creek intake structure occurs in Section 16, T11S, R97W. This
structure is screened and gavelled and conveys water directly from Rapid
Creek via 8-inch pipeline to either Palisade Cabin Reservoir or the 6-inch Rapid
Creek pipeline that is connnected to the water supply reservoir in Section 2,
T11 S, R98W.
• 7-11 (New 3/1/96)
