1 .! <br />Item #3 Northern #1 Storage Pad Area <br />The storage pad area is an area 80 feet wide x 160 feet long that <br />was used to store mine supplies. It is located immediately <br />adjacent to the access road immediately below the reclaimed <br />topsoil stockpile. The landowner requests that it remain since he <br />uses it to store materials for the hunting operation. Currently, <br />he is also using it to store electrical supplies. This area is <br />shown on Exhibit C-7. <br />Item #4 Trailer Pad and Parking Area <br />The trailer pad area consists of one concrete pad that was used <br />as a foundation for a standard mobile trailer that served as an <br />office for the minesite. The pad contains water and sewage <br />hookups and are valuable to the landowner since hunters can park <br />their campers there during the hunting season. Exhibit C-7 shows <br />the location of this area. The parking area covers approximately <br />0.3 acres. <br />Item #5 Northern #1 Sediment Pond <br />The Northern #1 sediment pond is fed by a trench drain system <br />that was originally used to draw ,shallow groundwater away from <br />the mine surface facilities. This trench drain system flows 365 <br />days of the year and provides the sediment pond with a steady <br />flow of excellent quality water needed to maintain a good fishing <br />population in the pond. The landowner has made money by charging <br />fees to fishermen who want to fish the pond. For this reason, the <br />landowner desires to keep the pond for recreational use. <br />Item #6 Access Road at Refuse Facility <br />The access road to the refuse facility is a gravel roadbase <br />compacted road that replaced a pre-existing dirt road that <br />existed at the exact location. The improved road installed by the <br />mine operator is 20 feet wide, well-compacted, has safety' <br />guardrails and well-vegetated sideslopes. it is advantageous to <br />the landowner to keep this road because it provides access to the <br />property east and south for hunting.
