Part I
Page No. 7
Permit No.: CO-0045225
d. The permittee shall compare sample results against the following calculated release concentrations.
Table I.B.-3 Calculated Release Concenvations

pH, su 6.5-9.0
Cadmium (PD), mg/1 O.Ol6
Copper (PD), mg/1 0.037
Lead (PD), mg/1 0.33
Zinc (PD), mg/l 0.33
From Issuance Thru 12/31/97
Iron (TR), mg/l - 11.4
Beginning 1/1/98
Imn TR m /1 4.6
if any individual sample result is greater than (or, in the case of pH -less than) the calculated release
concentration, the permittee will visually vack the next subsequent regenerative release from the lower pond down
the Squaw Gulch drainage and perform the following analyses:
i) If the dischazge is tracked all the way into Cripple Creek, both an upstream and downstream sample
will be collected within Cripple Creek. Upstream samples for all parameters listed in Table I.B.3 will
be collected immediately upsveam of the confluence. Downstream samples will be wllected at the
first downsveam point where the two streams have become completely mixed.
ii) If the discharge infiltrates prior to reaching the Highway 67 crossing, no further monitoring is
required.
iii) If the discharge is tracked below the Highway 67 crossing, infiltrates into the channel, but then
reappears and there is a surface discharge into Cripple Creek, a sample will be collected in Squaw
Gulch just prior to entering Cripple Creek.
iv) If the discharge is vacked below the Highway 67 crossing, but there is no surface discharge into
Cripple Creek, the Division will review data that is available for Cripple Creek and determine if
funkier monitoring is necessary.
The results of the above release tracking and sampling work shall be submitted along with the Discharge
Monitoring Report for that month.
3. rtine of Data
Reporting of the data gathered in compliance with Part I.B.I shall be on a monthly basis for point 003A, in order to
report water quality sampling results. Monitoring results shall be summarized for each month and reported on
Division approved discharge monitoring report (DMR) fortes (EPA form 3320-1). The forms shall be mailed to the
agencies listed below so they aze received no later than the 28th day of the following month. [f no discharge occurs
during the reporting period, 'No Discharge' shall be reported.
In addition, an annual report must be submittted by December 31, of each year reporting the results of infiltration
monitoring. Infilvation monitoring results will no[ be submitted on a Discharge Monitoring Repoli. Therefore, in
order to vack these submittals, a compliance schedule listing the report submittal due dates will be included in the
permit and will be coded into the EPA Permit Compliance System (PCS).
