It formed in alluvium and residuum from <br />shale in mountain valleys. Typically the soil is clay loam 5 inches thick. The <br />subsoil is silty clay loam, clay and silty clay 50 inches thick. The substratum is <br />loam to a depth of 60 inches or more. Permeability is slow. Available water <br />capacity is high. Effective rooting depth is 60 inches or more. Runof(is rapid and <br />the water erosion hazard is moderate to very high. <br />Mnp unit: CeD Shawa loam, 5 to 12 percent slopes <br />Description Cntegorp: SOI <br />• The Shawa soil is deep and well drained. Typically the surface layer is loam 31 <br />inches thick. The underlying material is loam or clay loam to a depth of 60 inches or <br />more. Permeability is moderate. Available water capacity is high. Effective <br />rooting depth is 60 inches or more. Runoff is slow to medium and the hazard of <br />Map unit: KID Tray sandy loam, 3 to 9 percent slopes <br />Description Cntegop•: SOI <br />The Tra9 soil is deep and well drained. It formed in santly alluvium on foot slopes in <br />the foothills. Typically the surface is sandy loam 8 inches thick. The subsoil is <br />sandy clay loam 27 inches thick, The substatum is sandy loam or sandy clay loam <br />to a depth of 60 inches or more. Permeability is moderately rapid. Available water <br />capacity is moderate to high. Effective rooting depth is 60 inches or more. Runoff <br />is slow and the hazard of water erosion is slight to high: 'The hazard of wind erosion <br />is high.
