<br />illap rrrrit: PpE Gulnare-Allens Park complex, 5 to 35 percent slopes, stony <br />Description Categorg•: SOI <br />This map unit is on hillslops and hilltops. It is 2bout 55 percent Gulnare soils and 35 <br />percent Allens Park soils. Gulnare soils are on steep hillslopes and Allens Park soils <br />are on gently sloping hilltops. <br />The Gulnare soil is tleep and well drained. It formed in residuum from sandstone. <br />Typically the surface is stony sandy loam 3 inches thick. The subsoil is gravelly <br />clay loam and Sandy clay loam 12 inches thick over soft to hard Poison Canyon <br />sandstone.Penneability is moderately slow. Available water capacity is very low. <br />Effective rooting depth is 10 to 20 inches. Runoff is rapid and the hazard of water <br />erasion is very high. <br />The Allens Park soil is moderately deep and well drained. Il formed in residuum from <br />sandstone. Typically the surface is stony sandy loam 7 inches thick, The subsoil <br />is sandy clay loam 72 inches (hick. The substratum is sandy clay loam 5 inches <br />thick over soft to hard Poison Canyon sandstone. Permeability is moderate, <br />Available water capacity is low. Runoff is slight to moderate and the hazard o(water <br />erosion is low. Effective rooting depth is 20 to 40 inches. <br />hlnp unit; S1F Allens Park-Wahatoya complex, 30 to 60 percent slopes <br />Description Cntegor}•: SOI <br />This map unit is on north and east facing mountainsides in the northwestern part of <br />the county. It is 45 percent Allens Park sandy loam and 40 percent Wahaloya fne <br />sandy loam. Allens Park soils are on the lower half of mountainsides. Wahaloya <br />soils are on the upper half. <br />The Allens Park soil is moderately deep and welt drained. It formed in residuum from <br />sandstone. Typically the surface is stony sandy loam 7 inches thick. The subsoil <br />is sandy clay loam 12 inches thick. The substratum is sandy clay loam 5 inches <br />thick over soft to hard Poison Canyon sandstone. Permeability is moderate, <br />Available water capacity is low. Runoff is slight to moderate and the hazard of water <br />erosion is low. Effective rooting depth is 20 to 40 inches. <br />The Wahaloya soil is moderately deep and welt tlrained. It formed in residuum and <br />colluvium on mountainsides. Typically the surface is f ne sandy loam 12 inches <br />thick.
