6. Briefly describe the process steps used in producing the product.
Include a process flow diagram and a discussion of chemicals used at
the site and their final disposition. State the final disposal of
wastewater streams.
This is a new coal mine where constrution began approximatley in
October, 2001. The facility was originally proposed as seven
underground mines and one surface mine covering 17,895 acres.
However, it has since been modified to only one surface mine.
The coal will be transported to a central loadout facility where
railroad cars will transport it to the New Elk facility near
Stonewall, CO for preparation and washing.
The facility will generate surface runoff. No treatment chemicals
are proposed at the site.
