June 26, 1984
Mr. Mark Loye
Page 3

4. It is understood that simply retopsoiling an area will not be
sufficient for release of the lands. All reclaimed areas will
either be in wheat production or planted with the proposed
seeding mixture.
5. A corrected copy of the map of Phase lA is enclosed.
6. Special reclamation efforts for the drainageway or draw is not
necessary since the water flow is insignificant.
EXHIBIT G
1. Please reference my comment above concerning this drainageway
or draw. Our original statement in this exhibit is still
correct.
EXHIBIT J
1. The following information was obtained from a phone conversation
with Tony Puga £rom the SCS office in Kiowa:
SPECIES COVER (o) HEIGHT (inches)
Blue Grama 18 4
{Vestern Wheatgrass 12 8
Needle $ Thread 5 15
Prairies Junegrass 2 6
Mr. Puga's earlier report stated that area lA is planted in winter
wheat and consists of soil types 6 and 9 which are described in
his Exhibit A-3. Area 1B is native range with the vegetation
species listed above and the soils were types 6, 8, and 43, which
are also described in his Exhibit A-3. Mr. Puga's report indicates
the current vegetation is consistant throughout each area.
htr. Puga stated in the above mentioned phone conversation that the
annual production from the winter wheat was probably about 20
bushels per acre. He also restated that the production of air dry
forage from the native range was approximately 1100 pounds per acre.
