• Fury series. <br />8/82 <br />The Fury series consists of deep, somewhat poorly drained soils <br />ire drainageways. These soils formed in alluvium. Slope is 1 to 3 <br />per-cert.^Aver-age annual precipitation is 1G to 20 inches, and average <br />annual air temperature is 42 to 45 degrees F. <br />These sails are fine-silty, mi>;ed, frigid Cumulic Haplaquolls. <br />'Typical pedon of Fury loam, 1 to 3 percent slopes, about E00 feet <br />east and G00 feet north of the southwest corner of sec. 18, T. 32 S., <br />R. cis W. <br />Al--0 to 18 inches; dark gray (lOYR 4/1) loam, black (lOYR 2/1) <br />moist; moderate very fine subar~gular blocky structure; hard, friable, <br />slightly sticky and slightly plastic; calcareous; mildly alkaline; <br />gradual smooth boundary. <br />AZ--18 to 32 inches; very dark gray (lOYR 3/1) silty clay loam, <br />black (lOYR 2/1) moist; few faint yellowish brawn (lOYR 5/5) mottles; <br />weak medium subangular blocky structure; very hard, firm, slightly <br />sticky and slightly plastic; calcareous; mildly alkaline; gradual <br />smooth boundary. <br />Ag--32 to 50 inches; very dark gray (IOYR 3/1) silty clay loam, <br />• black (SOYR 2/1) moist; common medium faint yellowish brown (SOYR 5/6) <br />mettles; weak medium prismatic structure; hard, firm, sticky and <br />plastic; neutral; clear smooth boundary. <br />Cg--50 to 60 inches; gray (lOYR 5/1) silty clay loam, dark gray <br />(lOYR 4/1) moist; many medium distinct yellowish brawn (IOYR 5/G) <br />mottles; massive; hard, firm, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; <br />neutral. <br />L'edr-oclc is at a -depth of 60 inches or more. The solum is 50 to <br />50 inches thick. The water table is between depths of 24 to 48 inches <br />tYiraughout the year. The mollic epipedon Is 25 to 50 inches thick. <br />The C horizon is absent in some pedons. Clay content is 27 to 35 <br />percent.^Mottles are at depths of 38 to 35 inches. Reaction is <br />neutral or mildly alkaline. <br />
