Containment berms surrounding the fuel tanks, the liquids at the asphalt plant and the asphalt
plant itself will be inspected monthly. Any problems with the integrity of the berms will be
noted and repaired promptly.
The site will be inspected to insure that all the structural and non-structural BMPs aze
functioning well and any off-site dischazges have the best water quality attainable from good
management practices. Little discharge, if any, is expected from this site. .
A comprehensive inspection of the site must be conducted no less than twice a-year, spring and
fall. An inspection form is included which may be copied as needed. Note any additional water
quality protection procedures implemented, directly on the report or blueline drawing for later
incorporation to the SWMP. If unforeseen erosion occurs, the SWMP should be revised as
necessary to improve discharged stormwater quality.
The inspection records and a copy of this Stormwater Management Plan will be available at the
site for inspections by Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment personnel. The
annual S WMP report will contain a summary description of the two comprehensive inspection
reports, and details of any revisions, as outlined in the permit requirements. Copies of the annual
report shall be maintained for at least three years.
Based on the results of the comprehensive inspections, any pollution prevention measures
identified in the plan shall be revised as appropriate within two weeks of the inspection. These
revisions shall provide for implementation of any changes to the plan in a timely manner, but in
no case more than 90 days after the inspection.
The site will be inspected to insure that all the BMPs are functioning well and any off-site
discharges have the best water quality attainable from good management practices. Little
discharge, if any, is expected from this site. The vegetated areas and ponds will mitigate any
surface flows. Haul roads will be maintained in good condition.
4.5 Employee Training
The S WMP Administrator or designated training personnel shall review environmental and
safety procedures with all personnel as required by the Mining Safety and Health Administration.
This training session will be conducted to inform personnel of procedures to be followed so the
operation is conducted in compliance with all permits. Some of the topics that may be included
aze:
• Spill Prevention and Response
• Good House Keeping Techniques
• Material Management Procedures
• Sediment and Erosion Prevention
