The fueling azea
will have steel posts installed to prevent accidental contact with the fuel pump. The fuel tanks
will be surrounded by earthen berms of sufficient size and capacity to contain the full amount of
the fuel tanks should a leak or rupture occur. The tanks of liquid materials used with the asphalt
plant will also be contained by berms of sufficient size to contain the contents of all the full
tanks. In the event of a spill, this site has sufficient earthmoving equipment to contain the liquid
and prevent its movement off-site.
The vehicle pazking azeas will be inspected on a weekly basis to verify that there are no areas
where vehicle fluid drips or spills aze accumulating. All mining equipment will be inspected on
a daily basis for signs of leaks or drips. All equipment will be thoroughly inspected on a
monthly (or sooner) basis, and the information recorded on the attached forms. Preventive
maintenance will be employed with all equipment on site.
Miscellaneous oils and vehicle fluids may be stored in small quantities in the shop neaz the
office. Generally drums or barrels of liquids will be stored under a roof. Any drums or barrels of
liquids stored outdoors will be placed on pallets to prevent contact with the ground and possible
corrosion of the drums. These will also be located within a containment berm to prevent the
spread of any leaks or spills.
All gazbage and waste materials shall be picked up and disposed of regulazly. The perimeter of
the site should be policed on a monthly (or more frequently) basis to gather incidental debris that
may accumulate against the fences. All refuse dumpsters and receptacles shall be equipped with
functional lids to prevent precipitation from entering the containers. Where possible, refuse and
waste storage should take place indoors, in a safe and sanitary fashion.
All containment berms will be inspected on a weekly basis, and immediately following any
storm event, to ensure the integrity of the berm. Any problems noted, or azeas of concern will be
repaired as quickly as possible to prevent the spread of any contaminants to the waterways.
