Briefly describe the process steps used in producing the product. Include a process flow <br />diagram and a discussion of chemicals used at the site and their final disposition. State <br />the final disposal of wastewater streams. <br />Wheu active the coalmine was au underground "Room and Pillar" mine. The <br />mined coal was brought to the surface where it was processed, stored and loaded <br />onto railcars for transport. <br />What containment does the petmittee have for materials used, processed or stored on site? <br />All the remaining chemicals, oils and batteries have been consolidated into one <br />building. The building has concrete floors and metal walls. Any spills that were not <br />contained in the building would flow to a discharging sediment detention pond #008. <br />Per our request Tanya Hammond has agreed to start steps to remove the remaining <br />materials from the site. Starting with the batteries, which may not be compatible <br />with other materials stored in the same room. CDPHE has also requested an <br />upgrading of the emergency response supplies (absorbent pillows, powder, etc.) to <br />better contain a spill and stop it from reaching pond number 008. <br />Are additional controls necessary? Yes, see above <br />[s the Materials Containment Plan adequate? Plans to be reviewed <br />The SPCC plan was sent to the Division January 13, 2001. <br />4.,r,i <br />
