The mine operation is inactive. The mine entrances have been sealed and
reclamation is under way.
The existing Discharge Permit list Coal Creek in Segment 4 of the Lower Colorado
River Sub-Basin. After further research it is determined that Coal Creek and the
un-named tributary are within Segment 13 of the Lower Colorado River Sub-basin
of the Lower Colorado River Basin. Segment 13 is designated Use Protected and
classified for the following uses: Aquatic Life, Class 2 (warm); Recreation, Class 2;
Agriculture. The effluent limitations are the same since they were based on the
Colorado Rivers standards.
