MINING PLAN
EXHIBIT C
PERMANENT MAN-MADE STRUCTURES
The only man-made structure within 200 feet of the affected
lands is a three strand barbed wire fence crossing the mining
site. There are no above or below ground communication or power
lines, bridges, wells, pipelines, water storage impoundments,
railroad tracks, cemeteries or communication antennas within 200
feet of the affected lands. The surface owners own the fence.
WATER RESOURCES
There are no water structures on or adjacent to the site.
The closest stream is the North Fork Republican River approxi-
mately 2.50 miles south of the site. Mining will not reach the
ground water table. Our investigations indicated the ground
water table is more than 160 feet below the surface of the site,
so no ground water will be exposed. Surface or subsurface water
will not be impacted by this mining operation.
MINING PLAN
EXHIBIT C
6.3.3 - This is an open pit mine located 2.85 miles north-
east of Laird Colorado, west of County Road SS. We anticipate
the life of this mine to be between 5 and 10 years depending on
our need for material in the area. The site is currently used by
the landowners as a borrow site for material used in their
feedlot west of the site. Their use of the material is allowed
without a permit because, it is used by the owners on their land
and is not sold for offsite use. They have removed material from
an area approximately 300 wide and 400 feet long in the northwest
area of the 9.99 acres we plan to mine, shown on Reclamation Plan Map -
Exhibit E-2 as a cross hatched area. We plan to expand the site
east and south from this area.
The material will be used to supply road building and fill
material on county roads. We also expect the owners to continue
to remove material they need in the feedlot. The land will
remain rangeland as mining progresses.
Of the 9.99 acres ± in the permit area, approximately 9.02
acres ± will be mined and 0.97 acres ± will be setbacks main-
tained from the permit lines. The setbacks from the permit line
will be 15 feet and then the 3:1 slopes will begin into the
7
