n
u
MINE PHASING AND TIMETABLE
Mining and reclamation will proceed in sequence across the
property as illustrated on Exhibit C-2. The intent is to di-
rect the initial mining to the areas that were disturbed
pre-law. Following is a table showing the different phases
and their respective acreage and estimated mining periods.
The times are only estimates based on current market demand
and will change.
Minin e Ph ase Acreaee Years

Phase 1 11.4 7
Phase 2 10.6 12
Phase 3 6.8 8
Phase 4 7.0 13
Phase 5 8.1 12
Phase 6 9.0 15
Totals 52.9 67
Mining and
the year.
• January.
secutively
will be coi
removal of the clay is limited to only three months of
Currently those months are November, December and
Operations will begin in Phase 1 and proceed con-
through Phase 6. Removal of the clay within each phase
npleted before proceeding to the next phase.
Areas outside of the mining phases are buffers. In the event that
areas within these buffers become economical to mine (through
technology changes and/or future exploration), a technical revi-
sion to mine the neca area will be submitted.
METHOD OF EXCAVATION
Mining and reclamation will be concurrent. Mining operations will
begin at one end of each phase and progress to the other end.
Within each phase, mining operations will be limited to an area
less than 2 acres per year. Overburden removed from the mining
area will be used to backfill, shape and reclaim the previously
mined out area.
The topsoil (if any) will be removed from the new mining area and
used to reclaim a previously mined out and prepared area. Gener-
ally there is no topsoil. If any topsoil is encountered while
mining Phase 1, it will be used to reclaim both pre-law and
post-law disturbances.
The overburden will then be removed and used to backfill a mined
• out area. The overburden, wherever possible, will be ripped and
moved with a bulldozer. In most instances the overburden will
need to be drilled and shot prior to being moved with the bull-
dozer. An Air Track is planned to be used for drilling, and the
explosive is planned to be ANFO with the proper initiation system.
